«In bed with La cellule» is an invitation to share the artists’ bed for one night.

This installation has been created for the 6th European Night of Museums. It features a disproportionate pillow whose slight movement gives the impression it is breathing. This is a work, seemingly awake and asleep at the same time, which stages the artists’ sleep.

An embroidered white pillow case, evocative of a trousseau, of a young maid’s reveries. Instead of the traditional initials, the words «Premature rupture of membrane» elegantly and delicately embroidered in white yarn are stirring drama and suspense: it could be the enigma of birth, the vulnerability of the flesh, the frailty of love, the unrest of creation’s process… All impetus the tender pillow might soothe.
